Supplies Needed:
Remove Cabinets
Remove cabinet doors and drawer fronts using a screwdriver.
Sand
Lightly sand the kitchen island, doors and drawers.
Add Trim
If using any type of trim, cut it to size and attach it using a brad nailer. Fill nail holes with wood filler and sand as needed. Smooth any edges along the trim using caulk.
Tape It Off
Tape off any areas where the island meets the floor and where the island meets the countertop. Then, gently run a putty knife against the edge of the FrogTape® Multi-Surface Painter's Tape to get a tight seal.
Pro Tip: Putting too much pressure can cause the tape to rip.
Prime
Prime the island and cabinet doors and drawers. Let dry completely.
Paint Trim
Once caulk is dry, paint the trim with a paint brush to match the rest of the island. If needed, paint a second coat.
Paint
Paint the island, doors and drawers with satin paint using the paint brush first and then come behind with the paint roller for a smooth finish.
Remove the Tape
Gently remove the FrogTape® Multi-Surface Painter's Tape.
Wrap-Up
Clean up the space and enjoy!
