The Frog’s Gone Fishing
HICKORY, N.C. (February 3, 2010) – FrogTape® brand painter’s tape is proud to announce its sponsorship of professional bass angler Brian Travis. Mr. Travis will be fishing in the FLW Series and FLW Tour set that kicked-off January 27 in Okeechobee, Fla.
Mr. Travis has been bass fishing since he was 7 years old, learning the ropes from his older brother, Jim, a long-time employee of Shurtape – the company behind FrogTape. During his college years, Mr. Travis joined two amateur fishing clubs in North Carolina. After winning many of those clubs’ tournaments, club members suggested Mr. Travis turn pro.
In 2008, Mr. Travis won The Bass Federation National Championship on Lake Wylie in Charlotte, N.C. With that win, he earned a spot in the Forrest Wood Cup, the Super Bowl of bass fishing, convincing him he was ready to compete at the professional level. Last year was Mr. Travis’ first year on the pro circuit where his skill earned him three top 15 finishes and two top 50 finishes.
